Order Up: High-Stakes Leadership Lessons from 20 Years Behind the Bar

What does a Friday night rush at a packed bar have in common with a production outage? More than you’d think. In an era where AI can handle the syntax, the "human" architecture of engineering—de-escalation, reading the room, and managing chaos—has become the ultimate senior-level differentiator. Drawing on two decades in hospitality and a career in software leadership, this session translates "bar logic" into a tactical framework for leading high-performing Flutter teams. We’ll explore how to apply "Mise en Place" to your development workflows and use "Service Recovery" to turn failed deployments into loyalty-building moments. Whether you’re a solo founder or a team lead, you’ll learn why the most resilient leaders don’t just write code—they "manage the floor." Leave the IDE behind and discover how hospitality-honed intuition can help you navigate the messy, non-binary reality of human collaboration.

Flutteristas Panel: Is Your App Inclusive, or Does It Just Check the Boxes?

For years, "inclusivity" in mobile development has been treated as a synonym for standard accessibility compliance or simply adding a third option to a gender dropdown. But true inclusion runs much deeper—it’s baked into our database schemas, our form validations, and our UX assumptions. Back for their third year at FlutterCon USA, the Flutteristas are diving into the hidden nuances of identity and inclusion in tech. From the pitfalls of rigid form design to the unintentional exclusion in niche markets like parenting and tracking apps, this panel will explore how "inclusivity in the app" doesn’t always match real-world lived experiences. Join us for a practical, honest conversation on how to evaluate your apps from fresh perspectives, re-architect your data structures, and build software that genuinely represents the diverse world we live in.

Meta-Flutter: Architecting a Package to Automate the IDE

We know Flutter can build apps, but can we use Dart to automate the very tools we use to write it? This session takes you behind the scenes of a greenfield project: building a Flutter package that automates the creation of VS Code extensions. The goal? To allow developers to stay entirely within Dart while the package handles the heavy lifting of JS generation and API bridging. We’ll move past simple interop to discuss the "Meta" challenges of package architecture. You’ll see the R&D process of orchestrating dart2js to output valid extension entry points, the struggle of defining a clean API for other developers, and the architectural "gymnastics" required to automate a cross-platform workflow.
